How MAP Works
Blending elements from Process Healing with other aspects of energy psychology, MAP is the ideal modality to empower you to make anything possible. MAP uses the memory reconsolidation process to eliminate the limiting beliefs that have been holding you back in order to energize you to achieve the life you desire.
MAP is gentle and relaxing. You do not have to share your private memories or stories, you simply bring a topic up in your mind, then relax and feel your mind and body begin to shift. And the results are long lasting, once cleared your memories are permanently rewired.
Virtual sessions allow you to connect with Diane Joy from anywhere you feel comfortable and safe. All you need is a quiet place to connect where you can focus and relax, then simply allow your conscious mind to become a curious observer as the MAP session utilizes the abilities of your superconscious mind to positively shift your thoughts and emotions.

6 Steps of the MAP Method
- The client watches a short brain-training video that teaches the client’s brain how to find and neutralize painful memories gently and safely.
- The client chooses an issue to focus on, reactivating the memory pathway and becoming mindful of the thoughts, sensations, and feelings in their body and mind.
- The MAP practitioner gives instructions to the client’s brain, launching a self-healing of conscious and unconscious painful memories
- The client stays in mindfulness, present to what they are experiencing, doing nothing, and making no effort to change or affect the situation.
- After the processing, the client gives feedback– either a description of the changes observed or a subjective rating scale of their feelings.
- The MAP practitioner uses a protocol to find the next instruction needed to complete the neutralization process. Steps 3–6 are repeated as needed until the client feels complete for the session.

Memory Reconsolidation
The process of memory reconsolidation is carefully included in the MAP session protocol so that the client’s stressful memories impeding their happiness or peak performance goals are gently, safely, and rapidly neutralized in real time. Clients will typically observe changes in emotions, body sensations, thoughts, and muscle tension, and may suddenly recall other memories related to their family history or generational trauma.
